Aquamation: A Gentle Farewell for Your Beloved Pet

  • We are honored to partner with Nevada Pet Aquamation to offer families a gentle and environmentally conscious aftercare option for their cherished companions. Aquamation, also known as water-based cremation, is a peaceful process that uses water, warmth, and a gentle alkaline solution to facilitate your pet's natural return to the earth. Many families find comfort in knowing that this method provides a respectful and compassionate alternative to traditional flame cremation.
  • In addition to being gentle, Aquamation is environmentally friendly, using approximately 90% less energy than traditional cremation and producing no direct carbon emissions or smoke. The water used during the process is purified and safely returned to the municipal water system.

Understanding the Difference

  • Both Aquamation and traditional cremation provide a dignified way to care for your pet after their passing and allow their remains to be returned to you as a lasting memorial.

Traditional Cremation

  • Uses flame and high temperatures to reduce the body to bone fragments.
  • The process typically takes place over 1–3 hours.

Aquamation

  • Uses water, gentle heat, and an alkaline solution rather than flame.
  • The process takes place over approximately 18–20 hours, mirroring and accelerating the natural process that occurs after death.
  • Operates at a much lower temperature, creating a gentle and peaceful transition.

A Lasting Memorial

  • With both options, only the bone remains after the process is complete. These remains are carefully processed into the ashes (cremains) that are returned to your family.
  • Because Aquamation preserves more of the bone's natural minerals, it typically returns 20–30% more cremains than traditional cremation, allowing families to receive a greater portion of their beloved pet's remains.
  • We understand that saying goodbye to a cherished companion is one of life's most difficult moments. Our team is here to answer any questions and help you choose the option that feels most meaningful and comforting for your family.
